CLT components are being monitored during the construction period of this project as part of a wider research assignment being carried out by Scion and the Timber Design Society.

Researchers are particularly interested in the moisture levels deep within mass timber components and the effect it can have on the bearing capacity of fixings, joints and connections.

Wiiste units have been installed on this project and 2 other completed projects and the team utilise the associated web based software (Relia) to monitor moisture levels and the temperature and humidity levels at the measurement point. Build Anatomy is proud to be a part of this important and essential work.

Wiiste Moisture Monitoring

Restraint: Lightweight construction has been great in single dwelling units as a cost effective solution, but hearing your kids crashing around upstairs is not the same as hearing the neighbours, especially when you can't just tell them to keep it down.

Response: Build Anatomy developed 2 acoustic floors for lightweight construction depending on performance requirements and floor finishing preferences. SoundDown Duo, a raised floor with granular insulation and SoundDown Solo, a low profile, simple solution for cost driven construction.
