Victoria University’s Living Pa project is a leading edge, progressive and complex project. Any project that takes on the Living Building Challenge is an audacious yet worthy endeavor.

It has been an honour and privilege to work with these industry leaders in delivering solutions for managing acoustics and moisture in this iconic mass timber project.

Build Anatomy are delivering a cost effective, customized acoustic solution that can be installed by the main contractor which overcomes obstacles and allows for various services including sprinkler lines to be run through the cavity. Fortitude 150 Clear was utilised to protect some of the exposed timber components with F150 Grey on end grains.  Wiiste provided up to date timber moisture data as well as temperature and humidity throughout the build.

Wiiste Moisture Monitoring

Restraint: Lightweight construction has been great in single dwelling units as a cost effective solution, but hearing your kids crashing around upstairs is not the same as hearing the neighbours, especially when you can't just tell them to keep it down.

Response: Build Anatomy developed 2 acoustic floors for lightweight construction depending on performance requirements and floor finishing preferences. SoundDown Duo, a raised floor with granular insulation and SoundDown Solo, a low profile, simple solution for cost driven construction.
